We are looking forward to having Dr. Clark Walker, M.D., Dr. Doug Beck, Au.D. and Dorie Clark join us for this year’s convention. Please save the date for our annual convention and silent auction!
Dr. Walker is a board certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon in Lone Tree,Colorado, USA. His practice includes two audiologists and a full-time fourth year extern. He was residency trained in the United States Navy and recently retired as a Captain from the Naval Reserve. His practice encompasses all aspects of ENT including surgery of the middle ear. He is a faculty member at several medical schools in the United States and has lectured for state, national and international audiences on examination of the ear.
Dr. Doug Beck, Au.D. earned his master’s degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo (1984) and his doctorate from the University of Florida at Gainesville (2000). His career began at the House Ear Institute (Los Angeles) in cochlear implant research and intraoperative cranial nerve monitoring. Five years later he was appointed Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and Director of Audiology at Saint Louis University. Eight years later he co-founded a private audiology-based hearing aid dispensing practice in St Louis. In 1999, Dr. Beck became President and Editor-In-Chief of AudiologyOnline, SpeechPathology.com and HealthyHearing.com. He joined Oticon in 2005 as Director of Professional Relations. In 2008, he was appointed Web Content Editor for the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Dr. Beck is among the most prolific authors in audiology with more than 150 published articles and book chapters and more than 600 abstracts, interviews and op-ed pieces written for the AAA.
Dorie Clark
is a marketing strategy consultant and frequent contributor to the Harvard Business Review and Forbes. Recognized as a “branding expert” by the Associated Press, she is the author of Reinventing You: Define Your Brand, Imagine Your Future (Harvard Business Review Press, April 2013). Clark consults and speaks for a diverse range of clients, including Google, the World Bank, the Ford Foundation, Yale University, the Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the National Park Service.
Clark, a former presidential campaign spokeswoman, is an adjunct professor of business administration at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She has taught marketing and communications at Tufts University, Suffolk University, Emerson College, Smith College Executive Education, the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business, and HEC-Paris, which is ranked #2 worldwide in executive education by the Financial Times.
She has also guest lectured at universities including Harvard Business School, the Harvard Kennedy School, the University of Michigan, and Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She appears frequently in the international media, including NPR, the BBC, and MSNBC, and her work has been published in the Harvard Business Review Guide to Getting the Right Job and the Harvard Business Review Guide to Networking. She is also a columnist for Mint, India’s second-largest business newspaper.
At age 18, Clark graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Smith College, and two years later received a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
